Kelly Wang

Kelly Yixuan Wang is a Vancouver-based composer. Born and raised in Beijing, she moved to Vancouver four years ago to pursue her career in music composition at Simon Fraser University. Her chamber orchestra piece, “Bhava”, was performed by the Turning Point Ensemble as part of the Sonic Boom Festival. As the Resident-arranger and Percussionist for the Vancouver Pops Orchestra, she has also arranged many orchestral and choral pieces from films and musicals, which have been performed at the UBC Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. Kelly's music is spontaneous and intricate, exploring the feelings and dreams of her inner world.
